Donald Trump slammed after sharing AI video of FBI ‘arresting’ Barack Obama

The bizarre video comes as Trump faces pressure to release more information about Jeffrey Epstein

Donald Trump has sparked backlash after using his social media platform to share an AI-generated video of his predecessor Barack Obama getting arrested by the FBI.

The bizarre clip was posted to Trump's Truth Social account on Sunday (July 20), after Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, claimed Obama was responsible for a 'years-long coup' to keep Trump from the White House by creating a 'conspiracy' regarding Russia's involvement in the 2016 election.

In the comments, made on the Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures, Gabbard referred to declassified documents, which were released on July 18, and said: "Over 100 documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected."

"This is not a Democrat or Republican issue," Gabbard continued. "This is an issue that is so serious it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic."

Trump's video appears to have come in response to these claims, and kicks off with a series of political figures including Obama and Joe Biden saying 'no one is above the law.'

The clip, which appears to have been originally shared on TikTok, then cuts to Trump and Obama in the White House, reminiscent of the real meeting the pair had when Obama was about to leave office in 2016.

However, this particular version of events shows Obama looking confused as three FBI agents descend on him, causing him to drop to the floor as Trump looks on with a wide grin.

With 'YMCA' playing over the top, the AI-generated video then shows the former president pacing in a jail cell.

As well as the video, Trump also posted repeated references to Gabbard's interview over the weekend, prompting widespread backlash as well as accusations that he was attempting to distract from allegations he's facing about his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

"President Trump just posted a video of Barack Obama getting arrested. Shame on you, Trump. You’re not just part of the circus — you are the main act," one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another added: "Trump posted an AI video of Obama being arrested on his knees, in the Oval Office, to the tune of YMCA. This is f**king unhinged."

"Trump posted an AI video of Obama being ARRESTED by FBI and rotting in a prison cell. This is an attempt to deflect from the Epstein files," wrote a third.

Trump continues to face pressure to release more information about Epstein after the Department of Justice shocked people by announcing there was no Epstein 'client list', as many people suspected.

Meanwhile, Gabbard has announced plans to refer officials from the Obama administration to the Justice Department to be prosecuted over the alleged 'conspiracy' to keep Trump out of office.
