Donald Trump has been heavily criticized after writing a rant on Truth Social, including using a slur to describe Tim Walz.
After beginning with the words 'a very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots', the US president launched a tirade on Truth Social at 4.27am.
Trump took aim at immigration, claiming that a migrants can claim 'roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits'.
The president also targeted Mike Walz and Ilhan Omar, including making an inappropriate comment about her hijab.

He then went on an offensive rant about the country of Somalia, where Omar was born, calling it a 'decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation'.
In one section of the rant, Trump accused Minnesota governor Tim Walz, who was Kamala Harris' running mate in the 2024 election, of allowing refugees from Somalia to 'take over'.

Trump wrote: “Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for ‘prey’ as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone."

At one point in the post, Trump used a slur to describe Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, describing him as 'seriously r*tarded', and in an offensive remark aimed at Omar, who is also from Minnesota, Trump said that she is 'always wrapped in her swaddling hijab'.
The president was slammed online after making the post, with many people commenting after it was shared on social media platforms outside of Truth Social.
Taking no prisoners, one person wrote: "Imagine how miserable you must be to spend Thanksgiving writing something like that.

"He’s a narcissistically-wounded child lashing out until his rage sticks. The 'leading cause of social dysfunction…' is not refugees. It’s broligarch-billionaires w/ no more empathy than Trump."
Another posted: "Imagine being so emotionally fragile that the only way you can talk about an elected governor is by using a slur most adults grew out of in middle school."
Someone else added: "Good Lord. The second hand embarrassment is reaching unprecedented levels."
As for Tim Walz himself, he responded by calling Trump's mental state in question, posting on X: “Release the MRI results."

Meanwhile, Walz made a Thanksgiving post of his own to social media.
In the less unhinged post on his Facebook page, the Minnesota governor wrote: "A very happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
"We’re wishing all Minnesotans quality time with family and friends, rest and relaxation, and a good Minnesota-grown turkey on the table."
