A flight attendant who set up a GoFundMe page after being fired for 'twerking' while on the job has spoken out in a tell-all interview.

Nelle Diala worked as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines for over six months, but she claims she was fired from her 'dream job' as a result of twerking while on duty.

The seemingly 'harmless' clip shared on her 'personal social media account' saw Diala in the aisle of a plane, one leg up on a seat and shaking her nether regions, before dancing around in a circle and performing other dance moves to the camera.

She was then seen walking towards the camera before turning around again and giving a shake.

"The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected scrutiny. Although it was a poor decision on my behalf I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job," she said.

The now former flight attendant alleged her employer 'accused [her] of violating their social media policy', and despite her explaining the 'video wasn't intended to harm or the company', they reportedly 'didn’t want to listen'.

"Without warning, they terminated me. No discussion, no chance to defend myself - and no chance for a thorough and proper investigation," Diala added.

She went on to explain the video didn't 'even mention the airline 'by name' and she's always 'careful' about what she shares online.

The flight attendant concluded by saying losing her job has been 'devastating'.

After her story went viral, Diala sat down with Inside Edition to discuss her sacking and where she goes from here.

She told the outlet: "I didn’t think that being so happy could turn into something like this. They just said that I broke their social media policy.

"I was really proud of myself that I came so far. I just didn’t think that my video and my post and the way I was dancing would be deemed as inappropriate."

The former flight attendant continued: "I put on such a proud face every time I stepped on that plane and for them to terminate me without giving me a chance…it just was unfair."

A GoFundMe was set up after Diala was fired from her job as a flight attendant 'to make ends meet due to this sudden loss of income and until [she's] able to find another flight attendant position elsewhere'.

The fundraiser has been subsequently closed after reaching $3,312 raised.

UNILAD has previously reached out to Alaska Airlines for comment.
