An 11-day nude cruise has just set sail from Miami, but there's a number of rules passengers must follow if they want to remain onboard.

Bare Necessities has teamed up with Norwegian Cruise Lines for its 'The Big Nude Boat' event, which will see over 2,000 passengers heading off into the horizon, completely naked.

The vessel will cruise to the Caribbean, stopping in the likes of Martinique and St Lucia for Valentine's week.

But what can you expect onboard the ship?

Over on the cruise's website, there are a number of decorum policies guests must adhere to if they want to partake.

Of course, talk of decorum seems rich considering it's a nude cruise, but still. The rules are:

  1. When the ship is at sea or anchored in a port, passengers can be nude unless they have been told otherwise. However, when the ship is docked, passengers must be dressed until the ship leaves port and an announcement is made, confirming that nudity can resume. This includes personal balconies.
  2. Clothing is required for all meals in the dining room, bathrobes are not permitted. Bare Necessities explain: "When in doubt as to what is appropriate attire, simply confirm that breasts, bottoms and genitalia are fully covered by clothing that is not considered to be fetish-wear or lingerie."
  3. Lingerie, fetish-wear, and excessive genital jewellery are 'not appropriate at any time'.
  4. If naked or wearing 'a thong or G-string' guests must always sit on a towel to maintain hygiene.
  5. No photographs, videos or electronic images of any person can be taken without their consent, whether they are clothed or nude.
  6. The ship's 'no photo zones' must be adhered to. "We will confiscate any photo capturing device if you are found taking them," they explain.
  7. Fondling or inappropriate touching is strictly prohibited.
  8. "Displaying yourself nude in front of other ships in port (including on your balcony) or while port authorities are on board the vessel for clearance is strictly prohibited," the cruise explains.
  9. Dangerous or rude behaviour is prohibited.
  10. Passengers must also comply with US Federal law regarding illegal substances.

Bare Necessities explains that failure to adhere to the rules could result in passengers being dismissed.

"Bare Necessities also complies with the cruise line’s regulations, including the right to dismiss persons from the cruise for abusing alcohol and/or drugs, not obeying all safety rules including our decorum and attire, as well as not complying with the laws of the country we are visiting," they explain.
