A mother claims she was fired after being over an hour late on her first day due to driving through heavy, uncleared snow.

Damita JoMama (@swagger_waggon) from Arkansas uploaded the story to her TikTok page on January 15, telling her followers the details from what happened after allegedly being called a ‘liar’ by the company.

The creator said that although she loved her previous role, she left to start at a 'popular ambulance company' as it had better pay, hours and benefits.

Damita explained how terrible the weather can turn in her hometown: “If you know anything about Arkansas, we don't usually get snow. So when we do get it, everything shuts down."

The mother decided to drive her SUV to work instead of using her car, in an effort to make it on time.

"I have never had to drive in snow before because every job I've had previous to this, I've always been off when there's snow," she explained.

After the ‘terrifying’ journey to work and after getting stuck on the main streets, she was ready to talk to her employer about the morning, explaining: “So long story short, I get there almost an hour late, but I'm thinking like, 'OK, I'm gonna be apologetic."

She told people at her work: "I've never had to drive in the snow before.

"It took me longer than usual. But now that I know, I can prepare better for next time. And I'll be here on time."

The person she was speaking with seemed ‘not to care’ for Damita’s reasons and apparently simply told her: "You’re late. Why couldn’t you get here?"

The creator said she replied: "Maybe I'm not used to driving in snow. I got here as quick as I could."

Damita was then called into a meeting and was apparently told they ‘couldn’t go any further with her employment’ before escorting her out of the building.

She admitted that she was ‘shocked’ by the company's actions, sharing her confusion with her followers: "I'm just like, 'Are you f**king serious? It's snowing two to three inches of snow!"

She continued: "Oh, and another thing, she tried to call me a liar because she was like, 'Well, why didn't you call?'

"I was like, 'Well, I didn't have a number to call because the emails that y'all sent me didn't have no damn phone number'.

"So, long story short, f**k that job and hopefully I can get my old job back."

Damita captioned the TikTok: "I'm still in shock but best believe HR is getting an email from me."
