A company has announced what many will surely see as the gig of a lifetime, saying it's looking to hire three 'professional TikTok watchers’ who will earn money for just being sat online watching clips.

Influencer marketing company Ubiquitous has relaunched its 'TikTok Watching Job', which will see three lucky candidates paid serious bucks for what might be the easiest form of employment ever.

"We are Ubiquitous, your one-stop-shop for Instagram influencer marketing, YouTube influencer marketing, and, most importantly, TikTok influencer marketing," it said.

"This time around, we’re willing to pay three people $100 an hour to go on a 10-hour TikTok watching session to help us discover emerging new trends 'in the field.' No cap."

If you do the maths, you may have realised that $100 an hour for a 10-hour job equates to a pretty tasty $1,000.

Not bad for something most of us manage to do without even trying.

While watching, the chosen candidates will help Ubiquitous discover emerging trends by filling out a simple document of recurring trends they spot.

Jeremy Boudinet, Vice President of Growth at Ubiquitous, said: “Due to the success of October’s TikTok Watching job, we felt it was only right to bring it back for a second time and make the idea even bigger than before.

"Absolutely anyone can apply as long as they have a TikTok account.

“We’re not looking for an expert or a TikTok connoisseur, we’re just looking for someone who uses TikTok fairly frequently and has an active social media presence of their own.”

There's no experience necessary, but as the role will be an inevitably popular prospect, Ubiquitous said it's likely to get flooded with applicants.

In fact, last time the company started a search for a TikTok Watcher, more than 50,000 people applied.

Those numbers were whittled down to just one - a student named Rosella Cruz, who has almost 75,000 followers on TikTok.

Talking about the job, Rosella said: “My mom found the job online, and I’m somebody that spends all my days doing TikTok.

"I love content. I knew I wanted to be a content creator since I was younger, and I spend all my day on TikTok anyways, so I felt like this was an opportunity to make money and learn more while doing something that I love.”

If it sounds like the role for you, all you have to do is fill in an application form explaining why you deserve it.

The company hinted that you could also boost your chances by tweeting @ubiquitousofficial and telling them why you’d be perfect for the job.

All applicants must be aged 18 or over, with applications open now until 31 May - you can apply here.
