Retired NBA star Paul Pierce has found himself the subject of a paternity lawsuit filed by event director Princess Santiago.

On January 12, a paternity lawsuit was filed by Princess Santiago alleging that the 48-year-old former Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets star may be the biological father of her unborn child.

The lawsuit, seen by TMZ Sports, allegedly demands that Pierce conduct a DNA test to prove whether or not the basketball player is the child's biological father.

Santiago has been sharing insights into her pregnancy journey on her social media.

In a post to Instagram in November 2025, the event manager shared a video revealing a shot of a pool inside her 'new home'.

The post’s caption read: "New Home making sure my son has the BEST. My blessing."

Another post shows the mom-to-be posing under some Christmas decorations alongside the caption: "My KING awaits. 'Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.' Psalm 127:3."

A third post echoes: "Last year was tough in so many ways. Grateful, thankful blessed God gave me a Son. My King Jeremiah 29:11."

And it's 'doing what's right for [her] son' which is why Santiago has filed the paternity lawsuit, she argues.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, Santiago said she didn't want to file for paternity papers, and she's tried to 'resolve' the matter 'privately' on 'multiple' occasions.

"This isn’t about drama or attention — it’s about accountability and doing what’s right for my child," she added. "Paul Pierce is the father of my son, King, and I am simply asking for a paternity test so the truth can be confirmed."

A post shared by the mom on January 12 reads: "It’s only up from here. Blessings-No Regrets, I love my SON Isaiah 54:17."

Santiago can be seen posing in a blue robe baring her bump, the next image sporting a motivational quotes about 'patience,' 'peace' and 'positivity'.

Pierce is already a father to three children, whom he shares with ex-wife Julie Landrum.

The pair share a son, Prince Paul Pierce, alongside two daughters, Prianna Lee Pierce and Adrian Tanya Pierce.

Once Pierce became a father, he told Fatherly he had 'something to live for' through his kids and how they 'depend on [him] every day'.

"When you’re young, single with no kids, you can go out with your friends and you can do whatever you want to do," he continued. "That’s who I was. But now that I’ve got kids, I can’t just think about myself. I have to think about how my actions affect my family because I know daddy gotta make it home. They need their dad."

The question of whether he now has a fourth child who may need him remains unresolved at the time of writing.

UNILAD has approached Pierce's representatives for comment.
