A man in his thirties has explained his philosophy around dating and why he is yet to lose his virginity.
Ben Harris has plucked up the courage to go on a new UK reality TV show called Virgin Island, which follows 12 celibate adults as they travel to a luxury Mediterranean resort on a mission to overcome their fears of having sex.
A clip from the Channel 4 production captures the civil servant on an intimacy crash course with one of the show's therapist's, who seems to be enjoying the flirting.

But before the intimacy is played out on camera, the 31-year-old explained to the TV crew what goes through his head when dating - having been on more than 40 in total.
"It's gonna sound quite sad, but it's true. I've got a spreadsheet on my PC at home of just like every date I've been on. I see dating in the same way a football manager would see their team," he shared.

"I like to analyze things and see what I can do better."

Harris then went on to turn his charm on, and he left the expert happy.
But as to why he is yet to lose his virginity, the Brit explained in an article he had written for The Times, that it tragically stemmed from being bullied in school.
"The vast majority of the bullying I suffered was at the hands of other boys, but it nonetheless instilled within me this belief that despite my decent intellect, I was physically repulsive to women especially, and that no sane girl could possibly find me attractive," Harris wrote.
It wasn't until his twenties that he plucked up the courage to start dating, but nothing really materialised for him - that was until early 2023 when he managed to reach first base.

Still, he didn't 'push through' - even when he had a girlfriend... twice in total.
Detailing his second relationship, he described his partner as 'experienced' in the bedroom - but despite her advances, he never reached fourth base.
"Unfortunately my many years of inexperience had built up to such a level that I flat out turned down the opportunity to have sex with her on multiple occasions out of fear, although ironically we did literally sleep together in the same bed several times," Harris wrote.

While Harris still holds his virginity, he is grateful to have featured on Virgin Island as he hopes his appearance could help others.
Penning: "If this show helps to clear even a fraction of the stigma associated with being an adult virgin, it will have all been worth it. Even if it doesn’t, I know I got a lot out of it and I don’t regret taking part at all."
We're all rooting for you Harris, just go at your own pace!
