Post Malone has revealed he can smoke up to 80 cigarettes a day, a habit he admits has ‘messed up his voice’

Post Malone has revealed he can smoke up to 80 cigarettes a day, a habit he admits has ‘messed up his voice’. 

The pop-rap rockstar explained he has a ‘special zone’ where he goes to ‘rip cigs’ but did admit he feels like a ‘piece of s**t’ when he tears through multiple packets. 

Speaking on the Full Send podcast, Malone added: “But I mean, Johnny Cash smoked his whole life – he sounded cool, you know?”

Malone had been asked how many cigarettes he gets through in a day, to which he responded: “On a really terrible day? There’s a very fine line between a terrible day and a good day… 40-45.

“By the time I ask Ben for that second pack, I’m like, ‘Alright dude, chill out’. But then by the time I open that third pack, I’m like, ‘I’m a total piece of s**t and I need to go to sleep’.”

The hit-maker went on: “I used to [smoke them in bed], but not really anymore. Now I have like a special zone – it has like my PC in it and my Magic: The Gathering s**t, so I just go down there and f*****g rip cigs and build decks and die in Apex Legends.”

As for the most cigarettes he’s ever smoked in a day, Malone said ‘probably like 80’.

Elsewhere in the interview, the star spoke candidly about rekindling his passion for music, saying: “What you love to do, at a certain point, it becomes your job. And then it gets very hard to say, ‘am I actually doing this for me and my fans or am I doing this to make a living?’

“I got to a point where I was like, I love making music. This is what I’m supposed to do. This is what makes me happy.”

Malone is currently doing press rounds for his new album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which dropped a few days ago.

The promotional tour comes hot on the heels of the musician's announcement that he and his long-term girlfriend are expecting their first child together. 

Malone, 26, told TMZ last month: “I'm excited for this next chapter in my life, I'm the happiest I've ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad.

"Time to take care of my body and my family and friends, and spread as much love as we can every day."
