Post Malone Opens Up On How Justin Bieber Helped Him Battle Alcoholism

The rapper says he has 'super beautiful people' who helped guide him through tough times

Post Malone has said Justin Bieber helped ‘guide’ him while he was battling alcoholism.

The rapper, who recently revealed he’s engaged and has become a dad for the first time, gave a candid interview during which he opened up about turning to booze to help cope with the pressures of fame.

Speaking recently on The Howard Stern Show, he said: "I am responsible now. It was to a really rough point, and I couldn't get up off the floor for weeks."

Malone, whose real name is Austin Post, said being surrounded by ‘super beautiful people’ including his fiancée helped ‘save’ him.

"I just have super beautiful people around me, and I met a really beautiful person that made me feel like a human being again,” he said.

"It's the guidance out of the dark into the light… She saved my f***ing life. It's pretty epic."

Alongside his fiancée, Malone said singer Bieber also helped him when times when tough.

"There was a time to where I had so much guidance and Justin [Bieber] was guiding me… at the end of the day I have to do what I want to do, and that's what I'm going to do," he said.

"People can look at you from the outside and see that something's wrong, and you can be trapped in your own f***ing world.

“I need to do a lot less talking and a lot more listening. I'm 26 and I'm learning every f***ing day."

"Now I just want to be better every f***ing day. All we can do is just don't be a d***head, that's the golden rule.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Malone confirmed that he and his fiancée had become parents to a baby girl.

During the interview, he told Stern he 'kissed' his 'baby girl' as part of his morning routine.

Stern asked if he meant his child or his partner, to which he replied: "Nah, that's my daughter."

The rapper confirmed the news that he and his longtime partner were expecting last month, telling TMZ: "I'm excited for this next chapter in my life, I'm the happiest I've ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad.

"Time to take care of my body and my family and friends, and spread as much love as we can every day."

Malone has remained tight-lipped about the who is partner is, saying he’d prefer to ‘keep that all quiet’ and allow those closest to him to make their 'own decisions'.
