Former vice president Kamala Harris didn't shy away from honesty when she was asked about Donald Trump's second term in office while promoting her book, 107 Days.
After unsuccessfully running against Trump in the 2024 presidential campaign, Harris is now promoting her memoir which takes a look back at her 107-day run for the Oval Office. This began after former president Joe Biden decided to withdraw from the race.
Harris has been candid in the memoir about Biden's decision to run for a second term, saying the choice was one of 'recklessness', while also using the book to describe her interactions with Trump during that period and branding the current president as a 'con man'.
On October 23, Harris appeared at London's Southbank Center to continue celebrating and promoting her book in a conversation with fellow author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

During the appearance, which was attended by a journalist for UNILAD, Harris was asked whether Trump's second term was worse than she'd imagined it to be.
Not pulling any punches, Harris vehemently responded: "Yes."
Harris' thoughts on Trump's current presidency appears to echo the feelings of a majority of Americans, with CNN's Poll of Polls - which aggregates and averages a number of recent polls - revealing that as of October 22, 56 percent of people disapprove of the president, as opposed to 41 percent who approve.

Calling to mind specific controversies during Trump's second term so far, Harris made reference to the incident which saw a journalist invited into what apparently should have been a private group chat on the messaging app Signal.
In a lengthy article, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, reported seeing national security officials discuss airstrikes in Yemen before the attacks went ahead in real life.

Harris said that the administration was 'lazy', adding that they should 'get off their tushies and go to a secure room to discuss classified information instead of texting on Signal'.

“It’s so disrespectful of the power they hold, some of them don’t understand," she said.
While Harris criticized Trump, she has also admitted in 107 Days that Trump was complimentary to her in private, alleging that at one point, he asked her: “How do I say bad things about you now?”
Trump also allegedly told Harris that his daughter Ivanka was a 'big fan' of her, but Harris made clear she did not want to get sucked in.
“He’s a con man," she said, adding: "He’s really good at it.”
