JD Vance has snapped back at claims he yelled at his wife in a restaurant.

The vice president landed in hot water with critics earlier this week after a photograph that appeared to show him shouting at his wife Usha went viral.

In the unverified image, Vance was sporting a white T-shirt and appeared to be mid-yell with a scowl across his face, while a woman with dark hair sat opposite had her head in her hands in what looks like a restaurant booth.

Critics of Trump's right hand man soon weighed in that the image hinted at problems between the couple, who have been married for more than a decade and share three children together.

"Looks like things are not so good in Republicanistan," said one who shared the image on Facebook. "Usha is a liberal. Always has been. Apparently they were having and argument loud enough to quiet the restaurant. Why is he wearing a tee shirt?"

Dozens in the comments giggled at the VP's strange choice of dress for a dinner occasion.

"It looks like he should have a pack of Luckys rolled up in his sleeve; maybe he’s dragging us back to the 1950s via fashion," said another.

Now, Vance has put the rumor to bed once and for all, writing sarcastically in a post on X, formerly Twitter: "I always wear an undershirt when I go out in public to have a fight loudly with my wife."

The 41-year-old's snap back comes after many more suspected the image to be AI-generated.

It also comes as the couple have become the subject of swirling speculation for months ever since Vance shared a lingering embrace with Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA's founder, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September.

The mom-of-two spoke of similarities between her late husband and the VP as she announced the young conservative movement, where she is now CEO, would back Vance in a possible 2028 election bid.

Meanwhile, Usha only added more fuel to the fire when she was spotted out and about without her wedding ring, including during events with First Lady Melania Trump.

A spokesperson for the Second Lady said at the time that she's busy being a mom and running a household, which includes doing 'a lot of dishes' and giving 'lots of baths' which means she 'forgets her rings sometimes'.

Vance also shrugged off speculation, stating to NBC News: "I think that we kind of get a kick out of it.

“With anything in life, you take the good with the bad. You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some very good things that come along with it, too.

"But our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been, and I think Usha’s really taken to it, and it’s been kind of cool to see how she’s developed and evolved in this new role.”

UNILAD has contacted JD Vance's office for a comment.
