People Are Rewatching Armie Hammer Sniper Movie On Netflix Amid Claims He's 'Totally Broke'

A film starring Armie Hammer has been climbing the ranks on Netflix following claims the actor is ‘totally broke’.

The Call Me by Your Name star has been in the headlines in recent days amid rumours he’s been working at a Cayman Islands resort following the downfall of his Hollywood career.

Although a hotel concierge at Morritt’s Resort insisted Hammer is not on their staff, a source has since told Variety that he is selling timeshares in the territory as he’s ‘totally broke’.

It appears all of this talk about the actor’s current situation has piqued the interest of Netflix viewers, as a 2016 sniper movie starring Hammer has hit the top ten most viewed films in the UK.

You can watch a trailer for Mine below:

The war thriller sees Hammer star as sniper Mike Stevens who, after a botched assassination job, escapes into the desert.

But when his comrade steps on a mine, he must stay in the same spot for 52 hours while waiting for a rescue team to come and get him, dealing with the harsh conditions of his environment.

Although it sounds like a thrilling ride, Mine only earned 17 percent from the critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and a 45 percent audience score.

Nonetheless, it seems the controversy surrounding the actor has left people curious about his previous work.

The film continues to rake in viewers on the streaming platform where it currently sits in ninth place.

Hammer is currently living in the Caymans so that he can be near his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two young children.

Last year, he was accused of emotional abuse, manipulation and sexual violence by some of his previous girlfriends.

An accuser also shared screenshots of Instagram DM exchanges claiming to be between Hammer and multiple women in which he’s alleged to have expressed cannibalistic fantasies.

The first person to speak out against the actor was his ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich, who accused Hammer of saying that he wanted to ‘barbecue and eat her rib’.

In a statement at the time, Hammer denied his involvement, saying: “I’m not responding to these bulls**t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me.”

A source has confirmed that the actor is selling timeshares in the Caymans.

Then, in March 2021, a woman came forward and accused Hammer of rape, which he denied through his lawyer.

A couple of months later it was reported that the 35-year-old actor had checked into a treatment facility for drug, alcohol and sex issues.
