Viewers claim they're ‘howling’ with laughter as a clip from the new Ted series has gone viral.

Remember 2012? You couldn't move without hearing Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’, teen phenomenon Twilight came to an end and Seth MacFarlane made his directorial debut with Ted.

The latter’s live-action effort followed John Bennett (played by Mark Wahlberg) - a slacker in his 30s whose girlfriend Lori Collins (Mila Kunis) forced him to choose between a relationship with her or with his best friend - a talking teddy bear named Ted (voiced by MacFarlane).

And three years later, a prequel series has dropped on Peacock - with a clip of Ted producing a brutal takedown has gone viral across social media.

    WARNING: Strong language:

The new seven-part comedy is also titled Ted and follows the lives of John and his foul-mouthed companion who are both living in mid-’90s Massachusetts.

Excitingly, MacFarlane has once again reprised his role voicing the crude plushie, while Max Burkholder has stepped in to portray 16-year-old John.

Following the TV show’s release on January 11, a short clip from the show has grabbed people's attention online.

The seven-episode show will be available to watch in the Uk this February.

In the snippet, the titular character can be seen defending John’s mother Susan Bennett (Alanna Ubach) after a schoolgirl called Erin slated her.

During the brazen moment, Ted claims that the whole student body already knows about her ‘nose job’ before revealing that the girls’ father is actually her uncle.

Elsewhere in the clip, the bear doesn’t hold back and reveals that she has also been lying about losing her virginity.

And viewers have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to have their say.

All episodes of Ted are available to stream in the US.

One wrote: “Bruh this new show is so f****n’ funny omg.”

A second said: “Imma need to watch this now,” followed by a crying emoji.

“When is this dropping I’m already committed,” replied a third.

A fourth said: "Bruh this new show is so f**kin funny omg."

While a fifth wrote: "I’m f**kin howling now I gotta watch this show."

Ahead of Ted’s release, MacFarlane sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and discussed why the series was set as a prequel to the 2012 movie.

He told the publication: “Ted 2, I think, did very well.

"The story that had been told in the first one had such a clear beginning, middle and end that it felt like we are happily ever after from there, and so where do you really go?

Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane in Ted (2012).
    Universal Pictures

“But the idea of doing a prequel was a different case. It wasn’t something that I came up with.”

The star also revealed that representatives from Universal actually came to him to propose the idea of a Ted series.

“I hadn’t really thought about going back to that character until they mentioned it,” he admitted.

“And I said, ‘Really? Isn’t that outrageously expensive?’ They stayed true to their word and did not compromise the quality.”

If you’re based in the US, then you can stream all episodes of the Ted prequel on Peacock.

However, If you’re a UK resident, then you’ll have to wait until Friday, 9 February for Ted to drop on Sky Max and Now.
