People have resorted to 'throwing their phones' after watching the spooky trailer for the upcoming horror film Smile.

The first look at the film has quickly spread across social media and we can definitely understand why.

Filled with jump scares, creepy smiling and unnerving music, the film is a horror tale about a woman who starts witnessing freakish events after a traumatic accident.

Let's see if you're brave enough - but hold that phone tight:

Sosie Bacon plays the film's lead, a doctor named Rose Cotter whose life takes a horrific turn. Rose must confront her past in order to deal with all the strangeness going on around her.

She is haunted by someone - or something - continuously smiling at her and while the exaggerated grins do look like a filter you might find on an app, there's no denying that Rose has got herself into a sinister situation. Could the Joker be in with some competition?
