Netflix to cash in on its dominance in streaming and build its first entertainment complexes for 2025

Nothing says the future like a streaming giant branching out to create entertainment complexes.

Netflix definitely has a bit of money and it has just announced plans to diversify even more.

The company said it hopes to build its first two entertainment complexes in the US.

Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in some of their favorite shows including Bridgerton, Squid Game and Stranger Things.

Introduced as Netflix House, the doors are expected to open in 2025 with the first locations to be in open doors in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and Galleria Dallas, Texas.

The company explained that these two locations were chosen due to the fact that ‘they are part of two of the most popular shopping centers in America’.

So it seems Netflix is hoping to capitalise on the heavy foot traffic to get people to give their entertainment houses a go.

King of Prussia Mall ranks as the third-largest shopping mall in the US, boasting more than 450 stores. Both Netflix Houses will occupy former department store locations and span footprints of more than 100,000 square feet.

Guests will be able dine at restaurants and shop as well as explore recreated sets from TV shows.

The company is confident the venture will prove to be successful, as a press release said outings at ‘Netflix House will go one step further and create an unforgettable venue to explore your favorite Netflix stories and characters beyond the screen year-round.’

Netflix’s Chief Marketing Officer, Marian Lee, also praised the announcement and said: “At Netflix House, you can enjoy regularly updated immersive experiences, indulge in retail therapy, and get a taste — literally — of your favorite Netflix series and films through unique food and drink offerings.

“We’ve launched more than 50 experiences in 25 cities, and Netflix House represents the next generation of our distinctive offerings. The venues will bring our beloved stories to life in new, ever-changing, and unexpected ways.”

People on social media haven’t been quite convinced however, with some questioning whether the venture is worth it, while others complained about the location.

Only time will tell if Netflix’s entertainment houses will actually prove to be successful.

Would you consider a trip to Texas to go to a Netflix entertainment complex?
