The internet is insisting they have unlocked the ultimate cure for migraines and the golden arches and it has left many people shocked.

McDonald’s might not exactly be fine-dining but is beloved by customers around the world for a bunch of different reasons.

For some, it reminds them of simpler times and birthday parties; for others, it is the ultimate hangover cure after a night out.

But regardless of your reason for dining, most would be surprised if it could offer health benefits, more specifically, that it could cure a migraine.

But that is exactly what people on social media are saying; that a particular order from the popular restaurant can rapidly cure a migraine, affectionately known as the McMigraine meal.

TikTok user Milly Hancock heard of the murmurs and wanted to try it herself after dealing with a migraine for 48 hours.

But what is the order? Well, you have likely ordered it before, to be honest, it is just a large coke (or soda) and salty fries.

The clip of Hancock shows her making the order at a drive through and the content creator even captioned the video ‘Can confirm it works’.

Other users agreed with one writing: “I’ve just had migraines for 48 hours honestly killed every second, nothing working, I drove the McDonalds got a large coke and large fries and a packet of salt added it on, I swear it went half hour later, it really works.”

Another added: “For real though, like this is my go-to everytime I’d get a migraine. It works.”

David Walker, MD, a headache and facial pain specialist at Rush University Medical Center, has commented on the growing popularity of the McDonald’s method.

Speaking to the VeryWell outlet, he said: "We know the caffeine can help migraines in the short-term therapy of them. So it isn't too surprising that the caffeine in Coca-Cola itself is helpful.”

But before you start making this a ritual every time you feel a migraine coming on, he also cautioned that this may not be the super method you think it is.

He added: “It's great that this helps certain individuals. I don't think it should be generalized because on the flip side of things, fried foods can trigger migraines.

“I think there's a psychological component going on here. I don't think this should be ignored.”

He did note that the salty and processed foods could trigger migraines but added that fries can help replenish carbohydrates easily for those who have skipped a meal.

Even still, maybe best not to believe everything you watch on TikTok and if you have ongoing migraines, might be worth speaking to a healthcare professional.
