Jeremy Renner shares health update following horrific snowplow accident

The star is currently recovering in hospital

Jeremy Renner has shared a health update with his fans following his horrific snowplow accident earlier this month.

The Avengers’ star posted a short clip of himself being wheeled through the hospital to have a scan as he continues his recovery. You can see the clip here:

In a caption alongside the clip, he added: “I wish you all a very special night.”

Rennner, who recently turned 52 while in ICU, was airlifted to hospital after he was hit by his own vehicle outside his home near Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains on New Year's Day while attempting to free a car that had become stranded in the heavy snow.

A representative told Deadline at the time: “We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023.

"Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.

"They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

The country's sheriff Darin Balaam held a press conference where he shared the actor had been 'run over' by an 'extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment' weighing 'at least 14,330 pounds', adding that the actor's PistenBully became stuck.

"He went to retrieve his PistenBully or SnowCat – an extremely large piece of snow-moving equipment – to get his vehicle moving," Balaam said.

"After moving the vehicle from the stuck location Mr Renner got out of the PistenBully to speak to his family member and it started to roll.

The 51-year-old actor shared an update from his hospital bed.

"He attempted to try and get into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. It was at this point that he was run over by the PistenBully."

The star posted a short message of gratitude to his fans just days after the accident, sharing a snap of himself lying in a hospital bed, Renner wrote: “Thank you all for your kind words.

"I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

This week, Renner’s sister Kym Renner told People that her brother was a ‘fighter’ and was making good progress.

"We are so thrilled with his progress,” she told the publication. “If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn't mess around.

"He is crushing all the progress goals.

"We couldn't feel more positive about the road ahead."
