An influencer was told she could face jail and deportation in Bali after slamming the country’s police in a viral TikTok video.

Estonian model and beauty queen Valeria Vasilieva told her followers that Balinese police are ‘corrupt’, claiming they will take ‘all the money you have’.

In the footage, she said: “If you want to travel to Bali, be ready, because police will stop you everywhere, take your documents until you give all money you have.

"Until you will pay all of the money you have to this f*****g corruption police. Good luck.”

Although Vasilieva deleted the clip, it was picked up and shared on Instagram, which is where local police departments caught wind of it.

Alongside the clip, one person wrote, “With that many pageant crowns you have, but still no manners,” adding that if visitors obey the rules such as wearing a helmet when riding a motorcycle and following traffic signs then they won’t be prosecuted.

The Estonian model was told she could face prison or deportation.

The commenter finished the post by highlighting that calling the police corrupt with no evidence could fall under public deception and defamation laws, writing: “The punishment is jail and deportation.”

While it’s unclear whether the TikToker will face these charges, she did post an apology video.

Speaking about the incident, Vasilieva told Newsflash: “I was driving a bike with my friend in front of a traffic light where we were waiting with all the cars and bikes. A police officer came from behind and took the key from the bike.

“Then we went to the office (it is near this traffic light) and we didn’t understand anything, they showed us the amount to pay and we paid.

“Everything was okay but I was emotional with this situation, they didn’t explain anything and right after I made that video. I understood that I made a mistake and deleted it in one hour. But people already saved it and posted it everywhere.”

Fashion designer Niluh Djelantik criticised Vasilieva's actions.

She pointed out that she apologised for the initial video and ‘regrets making it’ in the first place, though others said she still needs to answer for insulting the police.

Vasilieva was set to represent Estonia at the 10th edition of Miss Global 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre on June 11, but now she’s unsure if she’ll be able to take part.
