Man with 'world's smallest penis' shares his biggest day-to-day struggles

A man who believes he has the 'world's smallest penis' has described some of the daily struggles he has to endure.

Michael Phillips, 38, from South Carolina, sat down with ITV's This Morning recently, where he discussed his manhood.

The average penis size in the US is 5.5 inches, with Michael's penis significantly smaller than the average size, measuring at 0.38 inches.

The insecurity that often comes around penis size is one that has affected Michael's life, and it's something he kept to himself during his teen years and twenties.

"Just more keeping it to myself, I was younger, teen, twenties, and stuff like that I tried to keep it to myself," he said.

"I was always single, even though I had friends they probably wondered why I wasn't dating. I just didn't want to go through that."

He added: "I kept it pretty secret. There was a few girlfriends like in high school or whatever they knew about it, but as far as I know it never got around."

It's not just the dating scene to have been affected, with Michael explaining how his penis size has dented his confidence.

"I can’t go out and have a one night stand. It also affects my ability to use the restroom and my confidence," he explained.

Speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shepard, Michael explained that even sitting down when going to the loo can be tricky.

"Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything," he continued. "I've tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don't say nothing at all."

While Michael has struggled with dating so far, he's confident he will find the right one sooner rather than later.

The American added: "Since I started talking about it, you don't really get the perspective of women unless it's brought out there, and there's been a few stories about me and I've read comments and I've learned that there's a huge population of people that just don't care about that sort of thing."

Michael was officially diagnosed with a micropenis in 2024 following a visit to a doctor.

According to VeryWellHealth, a micropenis is defined as one which is shorter than 3.67 inches when measured by stretched penile length, SPL.

Speaking to the Sun in 2024, he said: "I went to the doctor about four or five months ago with concerns over my penis size. I was informed there is a condition called a micropenis.

"I was referred to a urologist. I was always aware it had been small, but wasn't aware there was a condition for it. The main reason I went to the doctor was because my penis is actually too small to have sex at all."
