Being a contender for the man with the smallest penis in the world has not been easy for Michael Phillips, whose micro-sized package has left him adrift in a world obsessed by size and sexual success.

The 38-year-old South Carolina man opened up this week about how his micropenis has made his life harder, with his package measuring an astounding 93 percent smaller than average, which is around 5.5 inches.

Phillips has even recently gone in for fat injections, with the hopes that it might improve his, stature, as well as his love life. But these sadly did not work, leaving him with a 0.38 inch penis.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning, Phillips shared the multiple difficulties his rare condition has inflicted on his life, saying: "I was probably in high school, and dealing with girlfriends and stuff like that, I thought I was a late bloomer, maybe one day it would be normal size. But it never happened."

He shared how his condition forces him to sit down when he urinates and has been impossible to discuss with his family, which he was adopted into. "I kept it to myself, when I was in my teens and twenties, I was always single even though I had friends," he said.

"They wondered why I wasn't dating and I didn't want to go through that."

Knowing that he would be mocked if anyone found out, Phillips made sure to keep his tiny package a secret, but this has not helped him to find someone to love him for who he is.

He shared: "I can't go out and have a one night stand but it also affects my ability to use a restroom, my confidence.

"Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything. I've tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don't say nothing at all."

The South Carolina resident had only received his diagnosis recently, deciding to finally speak to the doctor about his debilitating condition and how it was preventing him from participating in the more adult aspects of life.

In an interview with the Sun, he explained: "I went to the doctor about four or five months ago with concerns over my penis size. I was informed there is a condition called a micropenis.

"I was referred to a urologist. I was always aware it had been small, but wasn't aware there was a condition for it. The main reason I went to the doctor was because my penis is actually too small to have sex at all."

He shared how he first became aware that his penis was abnormally small, when a girl he was dating in high school laughed when he revealed his genitals. In the years since, he has given up on dating all together.

He added: "I have had a couple experiences of having sex and wasn't able to get it in and everything. From there I just stopped trying to date and lost interest in it."

And it does not look like there is any relief in sight for the size-challenged gentleman, who has spoken to medical professionals about possible surgical solutions to his problem, but sadly his penis size is once again the problem.

"I wanted to see if there was anything that could be done to make it bigger," he added. "There are some surgeries, but they would only be able to add about an inch, inch-and-a-half."

As this would still leave Phillips with less than two inches to work with and still fall 'within the spectrum of micropenises', he said he wasn't sure it would be worth it. In the meantime, he wants to share his story to encourage men to feel more comfortable in their own skin.
