A YouTuber has claimed to have recreated the closely guarded recipe of Coca-Cola after spending a year studying its composition.
The taste of the fizzy nectar has been enjoyed by many for the last 130 years, but if you’d have to guess what the taste was...you’d simply say: It tastes like Coca-Cola.
It’s sweet and yummy, and I’m not a flavor-profile specialist, but I’d even say there’s some citrus in there.
But while you could be fooled into thinking that the recipe is easy to recreate at home, one man has given up a portion of his life to dedicate his time to finding out the exact formula.

And after more than a hundred attempts, he thinks he’s only just cracked it.
The YouTuber, known as LabCoatz, is known for their penchant for science experiments, but this is something that gripped a lot of viewers, because Cola is a beloved drink for the masses.
Already, the video is at 3.6 million views, which is a long way from the 8,000 to 668,000 views the channel usually gets.

If you thought you could watch it, take down his recipe, and do it at home...you’re going to be disappointed.
One, because there are so many ingredients that I don’t even know where you’d begin to buy them from.
Two, Coca-Cola hasn’t disclosed its recipe, so we can’t know for sure that it’s an exact match.
Three, it feels like it’d take a lot of time, energy, and money to make it when you could simply buy it.

Don’t believe me?
Here’s LabCoatz’s 111th recipe attempt after months of 'studying literally every aspect of the drink' by reading scientific papers, conducting a chemical analysis, and more.
Here’s his screenshot...

With him showing that people mistook it for the original drink during taste tests, it can be said that it’s a very good clone...but we’ve had to go and ask The Coca-Cola Company ourselves if the ingredients are a 100 percent match.
We also reached out to LabCoatz to get more information on his recipe and method.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything.
