A woman was made to feel like the 'bad guy' after she refused to cough up $150 for the bill at a group dinner.

When going out with a massive group for some food and drink, splitting the bill at the end can be a rather tricky one.

Deciding on how much to tip can often provide tension, as you work out the exact price your particular meal with a drink came to.

Aryan Strauss, from the US, didn't have the best time out for dinner and has warned others to 'never eat in a group without discussing the budget first'.

The TikToker attended her model friend's birthday at a Brazilian steakhouse when she was left to pay the massive bill.

Aryan claimed she didn't know any of the other attendees, but that didn't stop her friend from quickly becoming 'irritated' when she refused to pay.

"I have no money, I'm a single mom," she said in the now-viral video.

As the meal was going to be a pretty expensive one, Aryan said she had found a 'buy one get one free' birthday coupon online and was planning to use that to pay herself and her pal at the restaurant.

However, things did not exactly go to plan for Aryan as claimed she noticed people leave the meal halfway through.

At this point, Aryan thought the guests had paid for their portion of the bill, but that was certainly not the case.

And while Aryan claimed she didn't purchase any alcoholic beverages or desserts like the other guests, the hefty bill was forced on her.

Aryan opened up about the bill conundrum on TikTok.

In addition, she explained that she was given an 'fatty' piece of meat, which caused her to run to the restroom and was later told by the manager that they'd compensate her meal.

"They wanted me to pay $150 when I just got the basic $50 meal," she continued.

"But because those people left and didn't pay for their meal suddenly I'm supposed to float this bill? No ma'am."

Aryan went on to say she had to write a check to her friend because she didn't have sufficient funds in her bank account.

"I said I'm not paying any more than $50 because that's not fair. She was irritated with me," she added.

"Why would you do this to me if you're supposed to be my friend? I wish I had said that back then."

Aryan continued: "I was the bad guy in this situation," before advising: "Never sit down to dinner with anybody, friend or otherwise, unless you've already talked about how it's getting split, and what your budget is if you're all going to split the bill evenly."

TikTok users have taken to the comments section to share their thoughts on the situation.

One wrote: "Anybody who get mad because one person paid for their own meal wanted a discount."

Another added: "Separate checks always. Save yourself the hassle."

While a third commented: "Always tell waiter that your check is separate as soon as you sit down. No grown adults should expect others to pay for them."

Someone questioned: "Who going out with no money."

In a follow up video, Aryan explained: "In my mind, having enough to pay for the meal and pay some kind of tip was having money to go out. I'm a lot more responsible now."
