Restaurant praised for savage note taking aim at impatient customers

The restaurant owner never expected the note to go viral

A US restaurant has been praised for placing a savage note on display taking aim at impatient customers.

We've all been there haven't we? Got only ten minutes until the train arrives and in need of a bit of grub.

Not every restaurant has the capability of dishing out food in such a quick time, with one restaurant owner playing on that and taking aim at impatient customers in the process.

A sign put out by the anonymous restaurant owner has been applauded by Facebook users after it was posted on the social media platform last week.

The sign reads: "This restaurant in Horry County does not mince words. Other than the buffet - our food is cooked to order. If you are in a hurry, Wendy's is right down the road or come another time.

"Everybody in Horry county cannot eat between five to eight on Friday night. Please don't expect speedy service during those hours.

"Believe it or not there are 165 other hours you can dine with us and get faster service. Thanks for understanding!!"

Many have flocked to the comments section of the Facebook post, with one person penning: "I’d actually love to know which restaurant. I’d go, take my time, compliment the staff and tip well."

A second added: "I thought this was common knowledge. Some consumers are so disconnected from reality. The fact that a business has to say this, is frightening!"

While a third remarked: "It's sad that people forgot how to act in public, but glad businesses are fighting back."

Many have speculated as to where the restaurant is, and now the Daily Express US have confirmed the sign was posted at Salt Water Grille in Longs, South Carolina.

The outlet has spoken to the restaurant's owner Paddi Carson, who has been left shocked the sign went gone viral.

“It was sort of a joke for crying out loud. I was just trying give them a heads up," she told the Daily Express US.

Carson added: "We all laugh about it [being the busiest time] in the restaurant industry but that’s maybe not been said out loud.

"We don’t do that - we cook every order to order. When the order goes in - that’s when it cook. I can’t feed everybody at the same time. People who do know us know it’s a busy time.

"We're just a family-run little business. It was more or less a joke. I just put it up for a couple days."
