Scientists reveal what your favorite way to eat eggs really says about you

How do you like your eggs in the morning?

Scientists believe the way in which you enjoy an egg can actually sum you up as a person.

On that note, how do you like your eggs in the morning? Well, unfortunately a kiss isn't on the table, instead, psychologists have cracked the many different ways you can take your egg as well as what it means about you.

It sounds like something straight off the playground, if you recall the whole 'if you hold a buttercup under your chin and it glows yellow, it means you like butter' trick... but this is no game.

No, 1,010 egg-lovers in the UK were quizzed over their consumption of the food, as well as a number of other things - some of which were as personal as how high their sex drive was.

The British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) commissioned the Mindlab International study and the results apparently say a lot about you.

Boiled eggs

The results of the survey found that, on average, women preferred their eggs boiled more than men.

It also found that those who enjoy cooking their eggs in the shell have a tendency to be impulsive, careless, or just simply disorganized.

When it comes to their love life, boiled egg enthusiasts are apparently more at risk of going through a divorce.

Poached eggs

Now here's where I tune in... can you beat smashed avocado with tomatoes, mixed with olive oil, chilli flakes and garlic granules on a toasted slice of buttered sourdough with a poached egg and hot sauce on top?

Very specific... which actually sets us up for how much researchers discovered when it comes to those who enjoy them.

According to the survey, poached egg lovers are likely to have two children as well as hail from a family with no more than one older sister or brother. Again, it suggested that women prefer their eggs poached more than men, and it increases into old age.

They are also said to be happier than most people, sociable and are outgoing - as well as enjoying energetic and lively music and wearing statement clothing.

Fried eggs

If a fried egg is your favorite way to enjoy the delicacy - if you can call it that - then you're more likely than not a man, and often quite young, the study found.

Ironically, it supposedly means you're open to trying new things, are curious and creative - as well as imaginative... which surely doesn't add up - sorry to slam our fried egg lovers but it's probably the most boring way to have an egg. Unless it's between fluffy bread with butcher's sausages.

The survey found that it also indicates that you're from the skilled working class and have older siblings, while allegedly better in bed, have a more varied sex life and a strong sex drive... oh, and your dream recall is said to be more memorable.

You've got a lot of things going for you, fried eggers.

Omelettes

According to the research, you are well-organized, self-disciplined and reliable... which actually makes sense, because out of all the ways you can enjoy an egg an omelette is the hardest.

Omelette lovers apparently live longer and get divorced less, as well as boasting clean and tidy homes.

The real professionals of the egg world, go you guys.

Scrambled eggs

The survey discovered that scrambled egg fans are more likely to be in a managerial role or working at a senior level, as well as having a mortgage, and are the favored style of egg for those 20 to 39 years old.

Finally, if scrambled eggs are your go-to it's believed that you're less open and more guarded.

Since the research was based on a small sample of the population, it's probably best to take the results with a pinch of salt (just like you would with your eggs!).
