Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie has been pleading for help in the search for his sister, Christina Lynn Downer, who has been reported missing.

However, a message was posted on her Instagram feed on December 14, despite him not hearing from her since late November.

Downer, 38, was last seen in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, law enforcement says.

She is said to be 5ft1in, with brown hair and brown eyes, and there is a missing persons case active as she is searched for.

The Los Angeles Police Department has been appealing for any information, after friends and family raised the alarm, saying it is unlike her to disappear and 'go off grid'.

It was reported that Downer's account posted a picture of herself alongside a festive message.

It was accompanied by the caption: “Living life in peace. If you wanna send me a Christmas treat I’ll be waiting. Happy holidays everyone.”

It isn't a new photo, as it seems Downer shared it on Instagram back in June, and saved it as a highlight.

Her family fears this isn't new activity on her socials, and might be giving them false hope, as someone else may have posted it instead of her.

SNL writer Fowlie confirmed the LAPD has asked him not to comment on the Instagram in case the investigation is compromised.

He also issued an appeal online for people to keep an eye out for his sister.

“My sister is still missing. This is not like her, she’s never gone off the grid like this,” Fowlie insisted in the post.

He said that Downer is also never seen without her beloved pet dog, a miniature pinscher called Rex, with Fowlie adding: “If you see her, chances are he’d be with her.”

The family are still working with the police in hopes she will be found.

He also appealed for people to email him if they wished to join in on the search.

Fowlie has thanked friends, family, and supporters and fans of the show for their help with sharing missing posters, and for anyone helping to locate where she is.

Actor Evan Williams and Bravo reality star Scheana Shay both reacted online too, sharing their support for the family.

Fowlie has worked on SNL since 2022 and has also worked on A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter and more.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
