Taylor Swift fans are known for their intense devotion to the music superstar, which apparently includes selling all sorts of bizarre merchandise online.

One fan has taken it to the next level and is selling jars of rainwater that fell during Swift's recent 'rain show' in Massachusetts for a whopping sum of USD$250 (AUD$376, £201).

Yep, that's 250 smackeroonies for the literal water that fell from the sky as Swift belted out her incredible discography of hit after hit.

Popular Instagram account Only in Boston shared a screenshot from what appears to be a Facebook Marketplace listing under the title 'Taylor Swift Eras Tour Merch Rain.

The image depicts three containers from local weed dispensary Happy Valley, filled with a clear liquid that was apparently caught during the downpour that rained down upon the second Gillette Stadium show.

As per a deep dive into Facebook Marketplace by yours truly, the listing no longer appears to be on Facebook Marketplace.

So it's unclear as to whether the 'rainwater' is still available for purchase.

Social media users flocked to Only in Boston’s post to comment on the bizarre sale.

    One user said: "What? Crazy."

A second added: "Plot twist... [the] whole time it [was] toilet water."

A third asked: "This is a joke, right?"

News of the kooky sale item also made its way to Twitter, where people were equally baffled.

One Twitter user bemoaned: "Imagine being so detached [from] reality that you’re the target market of literal rainwater."

A second chipped in: "Fans will do ANYTHING to make money these days."

A third joked: "How ridiculous. How do I know if that's the water that actually touched her before I buy it?"

The odd ad comes only weeks after another Swiftie listed her contact lenses online for the meager price of USD$10,000 ($AUD14,700, £7,900).

Yep, it seems another Taylor Swift fan also had a bit of an entrepreneurial moment after seeing the star in concert.

They took to digital e-commerce platform Depop to sell contact lenses they wore to Swift's Eras Tour.

The listing on the digital marketplace explained that the contact lenses are 'used' but are in an 'excellent condition'.

So, basically, another fan could just pop the lenses in and swish them around.

It'd be like you were there, too.

Thankfully this one was a joke.

Hopefully the rainwater is too, but we guess we'll never truly know what people will do to earn a buck.
