Machine Gun Kelly reveals he was ‘banned’ from Coachella

"Moments with family may not come again, Coachella always will."

Machine Gun Kelly has spoken out about allegedly being 'banned' from the Coachella Music Festival.

You may've seen Machine Gun Kelly - real name Colson Baker and who now goes by MGK - hit the headlines in recent times as a result of his relationship with Megan Fox.

However, the singer-songwriter rose to fame long before he started swapping blood to drink with the actor.

After beginning his career releasing mixtapes, the 33-year-old signed with Bad Boy Records and released his debut studio album Lace Up.

However, it was when his music shifted to a more punk-pop sound when his career really reached new heights - his 2020 release Tickets to My Downfall becoming the only rock album to debut on Billboard 200 that year.

Oh, and MGK has also donned the role of an actor, appearing in releases such as Midnight In The Switchgrass - where he first met Fox.

So, given his success, particularly as a musician, why would he be 'banned' from Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival which takes place every year at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California?

Well, MGK first revealed the news in a post to X on Friday (12 April).

The musician said: "Never been to a coachella, they banned me in 2012 for whatever reason, i was looking forward to finally going this year but my daughters volleyball tournament ended up on the same days so yall will have to lmk how it is, she comes first."

MGK is a father to Casie Colson Baker, who he shares with ex Emma Cannon.

And it's not taken long for fans of the musician to flood to the post in support.

One X user said: "I remember watching videos where you’d say how guilty you felt for working so hard because you’d have to miss things with Casie. Now look at you. Growth. Best dad on earth!"

"We stan a good dad. she won’t forget this," another added.

A third commented: "Moments with family may not come again, Coachella always will. You’re amazing."

"I wanted to go too but also for the same reason won’t be there my son has awards and practice so I won’t be attending! Just the fact you choose your daughter endlessly says so much about your heart ! Here’s to being parents," a fourth added.

Although a final added: "Mgk deserves to be a Coachella one day."
