Jennifer Lopez cancels multiple dates on her first tour in years for awkward reason

The singer has axed seven of her tour dates.

Jennifer Lopez has cancelled several of her upcoming tour dates.

Lopez announced last month that she's going on tour again - her first in five years.

Titled This Is Me...Now the Tour, Lopez (often referred to as JLo) will take to the stage in June and visit several cities across the US.

The title of her ninth studio album boasts the same name and was released on February 16.

Initially she was scheduled to perform 37 dates, but this has since been dropped down to 30.

The 54-year-old has axed the final leg of her tour and will now conclude This Is Me...Now the Tour in New York.

She had been pencilled in for gigs in Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, and New Orleans between August 22 - 30.

Cleveland and Houston are also reported to have been removed from the schedule.

For the late August dates, fans are met with the following message on Ticketmaster: "Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.

"No action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, once funds are received from the Event Organizer, which is usually completed within 30 days."

The ticket seller further states: "If the Event Organizer is offering a credit option, it will be visible within the Event Details of your order, which can be found in your Ticketmaster account.

"Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster."

While Lopez has cancelled some of her tour dates, she did add extra nights in Miami, Toronto, and NYC.

A reason hasn't been given for the other dates being axed, but it's rumored to be because of weak ticket sales.

According to Variety, a large numbers of tickets for most of the tours dates that remain are still unsold.

JLo has been advertising her tour on her social media pages of late, but is yet to address the cancellations.

Some of the 'Let's Get Loud' songstress' fans have expressed their disappointment online at the news of the cancellations.

"The devastation I had when I saw my show to see @JLo on tour was cancelled," someone penned on X earlier this week.

"@PNCArena @Ticketmaster I have waited 20 years to see her in concert & now I can’t!!"

A fellow JLo fan replied to the tweet: "I’m so upset!! Why hasn’t anyone even said anything about this yet?"

"I am so upset @JLo cancelled her concert at @PNCArena for her tour," wrote another. "This would have been my first time seeing her in concert after being a huge fan my whole life."

"I'm devastated," they added.

A different person also said: "I’m so bummed. I have been jamming to her album since it’s been released."

When approached by UNILAD, Lopez's representatives declined to comment.
