Lil Wayne has revealed he can no longer remember the lyrics to some of his most famous songs due to memory loss.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper, who is behind some of the biggest hip-hop albums in the last few decades, says it's difficult to recall every word.

He told the outlet that popular verses from ‘Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II and Tha Carter One’ are a bit of a blur now.

“And that’s just my God’s honest truth. You could lie, you could ask me (about) such and such song, I wouldn’t even know what we talking about,” he said.

“I don’t even know if that’s when Tha Carter III came out. That’s how much I don’t know,” he added.

"And also, I always look at it as the curse part of the gift and the curse.

"I believe that [God] blessed me with this amazing mind, but would not give [me] an amazing memory to remember this amazing s**t."

The rapper’s health has declined in recent years due to his battle with epilepsy and recurrent seizures.

Weezy has previously disclosed that he has suffered seizures since early childhood.

Over the years, the rapper has had to cancel gigs and redirect flights due to health scares.

In 2012, the 40-year-old made headlines after his private jet had to make an emergency landing in Louisiana while it was en route to Los Angeles.

At the time, the musician had suffered another seizure, prompting him to begin taking medication for his condition.

But despite his health, he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

“Even when you say it, I don’t think you actually mean stop working or doing music. You probably just mean you want to retire from everything else but the music,” he said.

“When you’re an artist — a real artist like myself, I was born this way. So I don’t think that the real true artists and pioneers, they never retire. They died doing this.”

In August of last year, the ‘Look At Me Now’ rapper revealed he is currently working on Tha Carter VI.

In a video posted to his social media, he said: “What up, y’all, Tunechi here. Thank you. [I] ain’t s**t without you.

"I’m not sure if you heard, but Carter VI is on the way!”

However, the release date is yet to be announced.
