People are divided over who was in the wrong as Lana Del Rey's Glastonbury performance is cut off

Lana Del Rey's set at Glastonbury was abruptly cut short after the power was turned off, but fans are divided after she was 30 minutes late

Lana Del Rey took to the stage this weekend at Glastonbury over in the UK, but ended up getting taken off the stage after she went over time. Since then, the whole thing has really divided opinion online.

Now, getting carted off stage for taking too much time isn’t exactly the most rock and roll thing in the world, but there are strict rules on curfews at most festivals, and it turns out that Glastonbury is no different.

Still, Lana was actually headlining this stage, so it wasn't like she was keeping someone else off the stage.

It seems as if some of the problems here were created by Lana herself, as the singer was more than half an hour late out onto the stage, apologising to fans but telling them ‘my hair takes so long to do’.

Well, that’s great for the thousands that had turned up to see her headline the Other Stage on Saturday (24 June).

It meant that Lana had to rush through the set, even making mention of the fact that she was ‘about to rush this set to death’ at one stage.

She had to get rid of a few songs along the way, before the power was cut from her stage, meaning that she had no working microphone and some of her biggest hits left to play.

In the end, she apologised and said she was ‘super f***ing sorry’ to her fans, and even tried to give the performance without a mic, standing right in front of the fans on the front.

Security then turned up to escort her off, much to the enduring disappointment of the fans who had put up with all the nonsense.

This is all because the biggest acts on the biggest stages at Glastonbury have a curfew, and running over can get the festival into hot water with the local council.

The pressures of being a big music star, eh?

Anyway, it’s fair to say that the fans and other artists are split on it.

Muse singer Matt Bellamy said that it was ‘insanity’ and one review called it ‘a disastrous conclusion to the night’.

One fan said: “Lana Del Rey being late and having to end her set early because she was getting her hair up real big beauty queen style is exactly what I'd expect from her (complimentary).”

Another wrote: “Lana Del Rey, you may have been late, they may have cut you off, but you will go down in legend. 5 stars out of 5.”

However, not everyone was impressed with her.

One fan ranted: “Lana Del Rey turning up 30 mins late after having all day to do her hair is pathetic.

“People paying £400 for tickets and some of the artists couldn't give a f***.”

Another said: “Can we speak on how unprofessional Lana Del Rey is, we were talking about Frank Ocean being late but she is always doing it too.”

A third added: “No one gets around the curfew, and using your hair taking too long as an excuse is pathetic.

“She let fans down, and she arrogantly thought they wouldn't turn her mic and music off.”
