Calvin Harris has finally spoken out after allegedly costing Coachella thousands for breaking the festival's golden rule.

The British DJ took to stage on Sunday (16 April) to spin the decks for the headline slot when he supposedly broke curfew.

Festival goers claimed that Harris' closing set overran, after the music producer played banger after banger ignoring the rules.

Harris has since revealed exactly how he felt about his performance. Check it out:

Coachella really started with a bang this year, with a whole load of controversy coming out of the festival's first weekender alone.

Harris was named as one of the event's biggest acts, as he rocked up the stage to takeover the decks in front of a crowd buzzing with more than 100,000 people.

The DJ has received a whole lot of praise for his festival misconduct after giving the booming crowd an unforgettable - and slightly extended - performance.

After arriving to the stage 30 minutes late, it's clear that the 'One Kiss' hit-maker was eager to give his fans every bang for their buck.

But, while it impressed fans to see their favourite DJ risk it all for their enjoyment, it seems that Harris' tardy wrapping up of the set could have really landed him in the deep end.

According to a TMZ report, the city of Indio charges Coachella a small fortune for every minute that they go over curfew.

City officials told the publication that, as part of its agreement with Goldenvoice, the festival is charged a daily fine of $20,000 for the first five minutes past curfew, and an additional $1,000 every minute after that.

Upon breaking the golden rule, though, it appears that the 'What You Came For' producer was not fussed in the slightest.

The DJ took to TikTok to share a video from his headline set, which went over a good few minutes past the $20,000 five-minute mark before he finished up.

The short clip shows Harris standing behind the decks as he waves and dances to an ocean of a crowd, playing the track 'Slide' which features the likes of both Migos and fellow Coachella headliner, Frank Ocean, on vocals.

As the song begins, the crowd erupt in chorus of cheers and bellow Ocean's lyrics over the pumping speakers.

Harris didn't seem too bothered at all about breaking the curfew.

And, when the beat drops, it's clear that the crowd couldn't contain their excitement.

Harris captioned the festival footage: "Always wanted to play this at Coachella such a mad feeling!!!"

I'm sure it was.

So, it would seem that the DJ has no regrets after breaking curfew last Sunday, and has actually left the situation on cloud nine, despite the alleged fine he may have to face.

And Harris' stunt was far from the only scandal that Coachella has faced thus far.

Whether it was Ocean's controversial performance, Justin Bieber falling asleep in the crowd or the extortionate prices of food and drink - it's clear that the drama of this festival is just getting started.

Wonder what weekend two will have in store...
