Justin Bieber has been accused of falling asleep during Frank Ocean's controversial Coachella set, which he so enthusiastically praised.

Fans were left outraged after Ocean's disappointing performance over the weekend (16 April) when he turned up late for the headline slot and - to really put salt in the wound - he had to then wrap up the set up early due to the festival’s curfew.

Bieber has since sent the 'Novacane' singer a heartfelt message defending his scandalous set, but fans were quick to notice that the star looked as if he was nodding off whilst Ocean was on stage. Check it out:

After Ocean was well and truly slammed for his Coachella performance, Bieber rushed to his defence to praise the fellow singer for his 'unmatched' talent.

He posted a snap from the concert to Instagram earlier this week (17 April) with a caption that read: "I was blown away by Frank Ocean's Coachella performance."

He continued: "His artistry is simply unmatched, his style, his taste, his voice, his attention to detail... I was deeply moved."

Not only congratulating Ocean for the set, the 'Baby' hit-maker went as far as to call the Coachella gig so powerful and inspiring that it made him 'want to keep going and get better as an artist'.

"He continues to set the bar high and gave me a night I will never forget! Thanks Frank," Bieber concluded.

Since then, however, crowd footage taken from the night has since been making its rounds on social media showing what people are claiming was a very sleepy Bieber.

In a clip posted to TikTok, one festival goer alleged that the 'Despacito' star was drifting off mid-performance.

The overlap text on the footage read: "Not Justin Bieber asleep @ the Frank set," accompanied with four crying laughing emojis.

Only uploaded two days ago, the short video has since been viewed over 740.1k times with hundreds of people eager to share their reactions to the claims.

Many rushed to Bieber's defence, with one TikTok user commenting: "He’s just taking it in."

"You never closed your eyes soaking in the music?" asked a second.

A third replied: "Exactly. Who sleeps sitting up anyways lol?"

They make a fair point.

The TikTok has divided opinion online.

Others, however, weren't so understanding.

One TikTok user penned: "Might as well since Frank didn’t give us the performance anyways."

Ouch.

"These are long days," wrote another, "and Frank was super late."

"Do you blame him? Frank showed up like two hours late," pointed out a third.

A final TikTok user added: "Bro's sleeping in this vid but wrote a whole paragraph about appreciating Frank on his Insta."
