Bebe Rexha thanks audience for not throwing any phones at her face in first show since attack

Bebe Rexha has retuned to the stage just days after a fan threw a phone at her in New York.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few days, you'll be well aware of the traumatic experience Bebe Rexha has gone through.

The 'I'm Good' hit-maker was struck in the face by a phone while performing at Pier 17 in New York as part of her 'Best F*n Night Of My Life' on 18 June.

The 33-year-old was quickly rushed off the stage while holding her face with footage from the concert doing the rounds on social media.

As a result, many voiced their concerns at the singer's welfare after what was quite brutal attack.

A NYPD statement at the time said: "On Sunday, June 18, 2023 at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct.

"A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face.

Bebe Rexha was left injured from the attack.

"The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing.

"The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition."

Since then, the person who threw the phone has been identified as Nicolas Malvagna, from New Jersey, who has been landed with two counts of assault in the three degree; one count of harassment in the second degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.

Rolling Stone quoted The Manhattan District Attorney’s office, who revealed Malvagna said: "I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny."

But for Bebe fans, the main concern was all about her health - and she broke her silence a day after the attack.

She uploaded two photos of herself to Instagram with a blackened eye and what appeared to be stitches on her face, captioning the pic: "I'm good."

And now, just a few days after the incident, Bebe has returned to stage with a concert in Philadelphia on Tuesday (20 June) night.

Donning a bandage above her eye, Bebe made a rather funny remark to the incident towards the end of the show.

After already delivering a high-energy performance, Bebe jokingly announced: "No phones in the face, thank God."

The singer then began to belt out 'In the Name of Love', which she had to cut short as she got emotional in front of a packed crowd.

Certainly understandably with what she's been through in the last few days.
