Fan jumps on stage and attacks Ava Max just days after Bebe Rexha incident

The singer was left injured after the incident in Los Angeles

'Sweet but Psycho' singer Ava Max was left injured after a fan jumped on stage and 'slapped' her around the face just days after fellow singer Bebe Rexha was targeted by another concertgoer.

The shocking incident took place when the singer, whose real name is Amanda Ava Koci, was performing at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday (20 June).

Max is currently visiting stadiums across the globe as part of her On Tour (Finally) stint, and thousands of fans had come out to watch her perform in LA.

It was as one person in the crowd was filming Max dancing along to one of her tracks when a stranger suddenly rushed towards the 29-year-old on the stage.

A security guard managed to grab hold of the man, but not before they reached a hand out towards Max and made contact with her face, knocking her head backwards.

The singer turned back towards the crowd and grabbed her face, but soldiered on and continued performing while the guard dragged the man off stage.

After the show came to an end, Max took to Twitter to address the incident and reveal that she had actually been left injured by the intruder.

"He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye,” she wrote to her fans.

The man doesn't appear to have been named publicly, but security seem to have got his information as Max insisted he was 'never coming to a show again' as a result of his actions.

She added: "Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”

The singer was flooded with well-wishes from supportive fans after she shared the update, with radio host Gemma Maddox among those sharing kind words.

"So sorry to hear this happened Ava. I hope you’re OK," Maddox wrote, while another Twitter user responded: "You deserve so much better. We love you."

Max isn't the only singer to have been hurt while performing recently. On Sunday (18 June), Bebe Rexha was performing in New York when someone in the crowd launched a mobile phone towards her, hitting her in the face.

The singer collapsed to the floor after being hit, and had to be taken to hospital to receive stitches.

Fans called attention to the similarities in the incidents, with one Twitter user responding to Max to say: "I don't know what exactly happened but first Bebe Rexha, now you? Why is violence starting to increase at concerts people are paying to be at? Hope you're good [sic]."

A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the attack against Rexha.
