Zoe Saldana sets box office milestone that no actor has ever managed

Pretty damn impressive

Zoe Saldana has once again proved she's one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, having set yet another box office milestone.

Right now, the 44-year-old star is enjoying the glory of Avatar: The Way of Water, having reprised her role as Neytiri in the long-awaited sequel.

It's no secret that the James Cameron flick has been a colossal success since dropping last month, and is currently the sixth biggest film of all time.

If that wasn't impressive enough, the director is responsible for three of the six highest-grossing films ever to cross the $2 billion mark.

And that's exactly where Saldana comes in.

We recently highlighted the fact that the Marvel star features in 30% of the top grossing movies of all time.

And now that Avatar: The Way of Water has reached the $2 billion mark in the box office, that means she's the first actor in history to have starred in four films that have earned two bill.

Pretty impressive, eh?

Alongside the Avatar sequel, she was obviously a major part of the original, which earned a whopping $2.9 billion worldwide.

She's also a staple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy movies where she portrays the deadly assassin Gamora.

As a result of these movies, Saldana went on to star in Avengers: Infinity War, a film that earned a massive $2 billion.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Endgame took home even more with $2.7 billion.

Now that's not small change, especially considering The Way of Water is only the sixth film to reach the $2 billion mark at the global box office.

While she's making a killing in the superhero trope, Saldana has previously revealed that she feels 'stuck doing [the superhero] franchise'.

However, she did add that the films are something she still feels 'very grateful for' while speaking with Women's Wear Daily.

The Hollywood heavyweight added that 'there was a time where it was so exciting' but instead it now is 'just a lot'.

But despite her past comments about the ups and downs of superhero salaries, there is no doubt that her achievement is epic.

Alongside her work in big budget franchises, Saldana somehow finds time to get involved in other projects such as the Netflix show From Scratch and the Ryan Reynolds-starring flick The Adam Project.

Oh, and she also juggles all of this with family time with her husband, artist Marco Perego Saldana, and their three kids.

Elsewhere in the interview, Saldana discussed how she maintains a work/life balance.

"After Avatar, when you’re young and all of the time you have, the opportunity to travel and to go to lavish dinners and wear beautiful outfits and the nightlife became very attractive," she said.

“It was a lot of working hard and a lot of [playing] hard that sometimes got in the way of me feeling fully, fully proud of the work I was doing – because I did the work.

"Now that I’m a little older and I would like to consider myself a little wiser, it’s going back to that [feeling] of having those healthy boundaries for myself of, 'Go to bed early, really work. I know you’re tired. I know you really want to go out and go with your kids and just say, f**k my rehearsal and f**k my practice and f**k this session.'

"But I don't. I still manage to focus on family life and also focus on my work. And I feel good."
