Tom Hanks' niece might not have got as much screen time as she'd hoped for on Claim to Fame, but the scene she created when she left has certainly left an impression.

The clip of Carly Reeves expressing her anger over her elimination has been viewed millions of times since it unfolded on the latest series of the show, leaving not only her fellow contestants absolutely stunned, but also viewers across the globe.

In case you're unfamiliar with the reality show, it welcomes 12 contestants who all have famous relatives into a house together, where they're tasked with figuring out each other's celebrity links.

If their relative is guessed correctly, they're eliminated from the show. Unfortunately for Reeves, that's exactly what happened when fellow contestant Hugo correctly guessed she was related to Tom Hanks.

Footage from the series shows Reeves bursting into tears as she realised she'd been caught out, but her sadness soon turned to anger as she stormed off to the bedroom to start collecting her things.

As she made her way through the house, Reeves screamed loudly and began yelling about how Hugo had been given clues that were too obvious, saying: "Friggin’ bench… Friggin’ poster of friggin’ Forrest Gump, are you kidding me? Why a bench? Why a bench? There’s literally no references to benches on any other movie."

Reeves also took shots at her fellow contestants, saying: "Even Gabriel found that out, he’s not even smart."

She expressed her annoyance at not being able to do any challenges on the show, adding "I don’t deserve this. I should have more camera time. I should be here longer. No one expected that, no one.”

Her tirade continued right to the end credits of the show, and it's not a moment that people are likely to forget about any time soon.

After a clip of the scene was shared on Twitter, British comedian Dara Ó Briain wrote: "Oh my God, this is the greatest television moment (relative to how low the stakes are, a competition for celebrity relatives) ever."

Another joked: "I heard a rumour Tom Hanks is appearing in the next season with his #ClaimToFame being that he's her uncle."

The clip has also left people desperate to watch more of the show, with one person commenting: "I went from being all 'wait WHAT is the premise of this show?' to 'where can I watch every episode immediately'."

You'll be glad to know that you can watch the rest of Claim to Fame unfold at 8pm on Mondays on ABC, though I can't promise that future episodes will be quite as dramatic now that Reeves has been kicked out.

After her response to the elimination went viral, Reeves told Entertainment Weekly she 'overreacted a little bit' in the moment.
