Tom Hanks' niece shares what uncle thought about her viral TV meltdown as she breaks silence

Carly Reeves was not happy at getting kicked out of reality show Claim to Fame

Tom Hanks' niece has revealed what the actor said when he saw her outburst on a reality series.

Carly Reeves made headlines this week when she blew up after being kicked off Claim to Fame. Have a look:

If you missed this and aren't too familiar with the show, the basic premise sees 12 contestants - all of whom have famous relatives - enter a house.

Each of them is then tasked with working out who each other's celeb family members are.

Those whose relatives are guessed correctly are immediately booted out of the game.

And sadly for Reeves, it was her turn this time round, and she was not happy about it.

In a clip from the episode, she completely flips her lid, storming away and cursing all the other contestants.

She starts off by shouting about Hugo being given clues that were too obvious, saying: "Friggin’ bench… Friggin’ poster of friggin’ Forrest Gump, are you kidding me?

Carly Reeves, who is Tom Hanks' niece, did not react well.

"Why a bench? Why a bench? There’s literally no references to benches on any other movie."

To demonstrate how easy the clues were, Reeves then says: "Even Gabriel found that out, he’s not even smart."

You get the picture.

Well, following the backlash, Reeves has now spoken out some of the comments people have made about her.

Speaking to TMZ, the 39-year-old said: "It's funny that people are saying I was acting to get, like, an acting role. But I'm like, 'Are you kidding me?' I was very upset and I don't hold back when I'm upset."

"The only reason why I don't regret it is because it was real and I can't regret anything that is obviously my feelings.

"But obviously some of the things I said wasn't the truth.

Hanks apparently wasn't bothered by Reeves' outburst.

"I love Gabriel. I think he's an amazing contestant and he's hilarious. I was just trying come up with anything and anyone to blame for that moment."

But what does her famous uncle make of it all? Well, apparently not that much.

After the episode aired, Reeves said she messaged Hanks to check in and see what he thought about her reaction.

"He said, 'I got the flavor',' Reeves recalled. "And he basically said it's all good. I hope you get what you wanted out of this, I guess.

"He was totally fine with it. He's not worried that it's gonna, obviously, diminish his lovability."

Adding: "They know I love reality TV, so they thought, 'Have fun! Best of luck'."
