Thor: Love And Thunder Cut Kate Bush Song From Soundtrack After Stranger Things 4

We all love Stranger Things' soundtrack, except for Taika, who was more than a little salty when the hit Netflix series 'ruined' one of his favourite artists.

In a recent interview, the Jojo Rabbit director explained how he begrudgingly cut a Kate Bush song from the film.

When speaking about the soundtrack for the new Marvel movie to NME, Taika was asked if he could do with Guns and Roses what Stranger Things did with Kate Bush.

He hilariously replied: "You mean how they ruined Kate Bush? I love that show, but as someone who feels a real ownership of Kate Bush music… I’m really annoyed!

"I’ve become one of those old arseholes who’s like: ‘These kids never listened to Kate Bush, they’ve heard one song on a TV show! They don’t know Kate Bush! I know Kate Bush!'"

To be fair, we all know that one guy that claims to have liked the Arctic Monkeys before they were cool.

Still, Taika was seriously considering putting a Kate Bush song on the Marvel movie's soundtrack.

He said: "Before Stranger Things! Yeah, there were a bunch of Kate Bush songs I wanted to have in there.

"We were gonna have ‘This Woman’s Work’, which was gonna be great for Natalie Portman’s character."

That's not the worst part, because not only did we miss out on some Kate Bush in the newest Thor film, but we missed out on ABBA too.

Waititi said: "There was actually gonna be a lot of ABBA in the film as well."

He explained that while there is one ABBA song in the film, he 'wanted more throughout.'

And his reasoning behind it was pretty great: "I thought it’d be funny if Thor’s favourite music was what he perceived to be a ‘Viking band’. He’d be like, ‘They’re a real tough Viking band called ABBA!’"

Ah, yes, 'Voulez Vous' is a song for Vikings everywhere.

Still, fans are excited to see the new flick, which was released in cinemas on 7 July.

The film sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) team up with his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to defeat Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) who, as his name suggests, wants to destroy all gods.

It's a film for the whole family - just not Kate Bush fans sadly.
