The ‘best spy series on TV’ is back, according to fans, who insist this is the one show you need to be watching and aren’t.

With what feels like 100 streaming services and 1000 shows releasing, it feels as if your attention is constantly being fought for.

Whether it be Netflix’s constant stream of true crime docs, Amazon Prime’s R-Rated superhero shows, or Hulu doing… whatever it is Hulu do… it’s constant.

One service, however, that is a veritable sleeping giant is Apple TV+.

Whilst Ted Lasso may be the streamers biggest show by far, many of their others are slowly picking up steam as soon-to-be cult classics.

From Severance to Foundation to Presumed Innocent, they’ve quietly created a top quality library of TV content.

What many fans think is the most slept on of all these though, is Slow Horses.

The spy series, starring Gary Oldman as agent Jackson Lamb, has three seasons so far – with the overall show sitting at an 8.2 on IMDb, and an already-impressive 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Already-impressive’, because the Apple TV show’s fourth season has just had its reviews drop, and it is sitting on a perfect 100 percent.

Empire gave the show a four star review, saying: “Darkly funny and tighter than the buttons on [Jackson] Lamb's sauce-stained shirt, this is yet another outstanding season for Apple’s brilliantly unconventional spy series.”

The London Evening Standard were even more emphatic in their praise, saying: “It’s one of the great shows to come out of Britain full stop.

“Series four delivers more of the same: a fully realised world, superb script, a stellar cast all at the top of their game and a lot of great action.:

Howard Waldstein of CBR went as far as to call the show ‘the best spy series on TV’, saying: “With Season 5 locked in, to be based on London Rules, Slow Horses is one of the best shows on television and the most outstanding government intelligence series since Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau). “If we get a season of Slow Horses every year, so long as everyone involved seems interested, then we should all tune in.”

Olivia Cooke has also appeared in the show, prior to House of the Dragon fame (Apple TV+)

The show’s 100 percent rating has led to fans calling on more people to wake up and smell what Apple TV have been cooking.

One fan tweeted: “Some of y’all are sleeping on Slow Horses. One of the best shows of recent years and Gary Oldman is incredible”.

Slow Horses season 1-3 is on AppleTV+ now. Season 4 premieres Wednesday, September 4.
