Is there anything that grips us as viewers like a tense thriller that has you on the edge of your seat?

The kind of show that plays in the back of your mind whilst you’re at work the next day?

You’ll be stood at the coffee machine sifting through the different theories in your head of who did it before realising you’ve been stood there for ten minutes.

Those are the best kind of thrillers, and a new Apple TV+ show is exactly that, with fans calling it a ‘10/10’ and begging for a second season.

Starring Jake Gylenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard and Ruth Negga, and with J.J. Abrams as a producer, the cast and crew is top to bottom stacked.

Check out the trailer and see what you think:

The show in question is Presumed Innocent, an Apple TV+ remake based on the 1987 novel which also has a 1990 film starring Harrison Ford.

Presumed Innocent stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Rusty Sabich, a state prosecutor who is suspect number one in the murder of one of his co-workers, another prosecutor.

After it is revealed he was having an affair with her before she died, the web grows more and more complicated as the series goes on.

Even though the show is on AppleTV+, it's so good it got a post on LADbible's Facebook group Netflix Bangers.

One fan posted in the group: “Presumed Innocent on Apple TV, 10/10 !!!!!”

Those in the comments all piled in to agree, with one saying: “Brilliant . There is not enough decent shows like this anymore”.

Another said: “Just finished it... I love it!! My kind of show!” while a third commented: “It was good! Didn’t expect the ending”.

The show has a rating of 7.7 on IMDb, and critics were raving.

Camilla Long for The Times UK said: “It felt like a real dirty treat — glowering, moody, emotional shots of Chicago and everything seemed to be filmed, Peeping Tom-style, through a window, screen or behind a bush.”

Aramide Tinubu for Variety praised the show, saying: “Entirely watchable, Presumed Innocent is one of the best legal thrillers to arrive on television in years.”

RogerEbert.com also had high words for the series, saying: “This is [writer] David E. Kelley working in the register he excels at: a legal thriller with just enough interpersonal relationship drama and a touch of mystery.”

Fans across the board were also asking for a second season, with one posting on Twitter: “Presumed Innocent is my favourite show of this year so far. That finale was f*cking amazing.

“I was not expecting that plot twist at the end. The whole cast were great. Give Jake Gyllenhaal all the awards. He acted his ass off.

“Apple TV+ with a banger once again. Season 2 pls”.

Good news on that front, with Presumed Innocent becoming the most watched Apple TV+ drama of all time, a second season has been greenlit by the studio. Happy days!
