A deleted scene from The Office has resurfaced and reminded people all over again just what a 'masterpiece' of a series it really was.

Some people only need to see a few seconds of footage from The Office to be able to tell you exactly what episode it came from, and this scene is a perfect example of that.

Unlike the usual documentary-style footage from the beloved sitcom, this particular video appears to have been taken from a CCTV camera positioned in the lobby of a building.

If you're a fan of the show, I'm sure that's all the information you need to know which episode this deleted scene is from.

Titled Koi Pond, the episode sees the Dunder Mifflin staff become curious when Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, returns to the office absolutely soaking wet.

He walks in with Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and attempts to make excuses for his appearance, but before long it's revealed that he fell into a koi pond located in the lobby of a building where he went to visit a client.

Naturally the employees aren't going to forget about a moment like that easily, so Meredith Palmer (Kate Flannery) manages to track down the CCTV footage of the disaster for all of her co-workers to see.

The episode which was released in 2009 featured a small clip of Michael falling into the pond, but a viral post has since revealed the full deleted scene from the episode.

Not only does Michael fall into the pond - killing a koi fish in the process - but he then flails about helplessly while Jim begs him to get out.

The chaotic boss knocks over a plant as he attempts to get a grip on dry land, and ultimately has to be dragged out of the pond as a dead weight.

Viewers have been delighted to see the entire koi pond scene play out in full, with dozens of people commending The Office for its humor.

"How did john [Krasinski] not break character cuz if i were him i would be on the floor laughing," one viewer wrote of the actor who plays Jim.

Another commented: "the way Michael goes dead weight when Jim grabs him is priceless!"

"Gonna tell my kids about this," added another fan, while a fourth wrote: "I love this show. It’s one of the few that has actually made me laugh for real. What a masterpiece!"

Of course, the clip also sparked a lot of comments about Jim's behavior in the video, where he clearly leaned back to avoid helping Michael as he stumbled into the pond. It might have been cruel, but it certainly made for some good viewing.
