Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling star in an upcoming release which has already achieved a seriously impressive score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Barbenheimer is happening again - sort of - however, in the form of Oppeneimer star Blunt and Barbie icon Gosling coming together for an upcoming release described as an action rom-com.

Yes, I know, an action rom-com, could it get any better?

Written by Drew Pearce - known for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation - and directed by Deadpool 2's David Leitch, the action rom-com centres around a former stuntman named Colt Seavers (Gosling).

Seavers is dragged back to work and ends up on set with director Jody Moreno (Blunt) - who's also his ex - after the star of a mega-budget movie goes missing.

While navigating his relationship with his former partner, he also ends up entangled in something far more sinister. Will it only be the stunts Seavers has to risk it all for?

The film also stars the likes of Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham, Aaron Taylor-Johnson - known for Bullet Train - Black Panther's Winston Duke and Everything Everywhere All at Once's Stephanie Hsu.

The movie - loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name - premiered at 2024 South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, on March 12 and it's already achieved an impressive critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

An action rom-com starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt? It doesn't get much better than this.

The Fall Guy has obtained a whopping 90 percent score.

And since already proving such a hit with critics, the film has attracted the attention of many Gosling and Blunt fans who are now itching to see it.

One X user said: "Ryan Gosling movies never miss."

"It's also a perfect follow-up hybrid to Barbenheimer," another added.

A third commented: "I expect nothing less from Ryan and Emily to great actors. I can't wait to watch myself."

A fourth added: "Based on what early reactions have been about this movie being a love letter to stunt performers and how hilarious Ryan Gosling is, I want to see this so badly now."

And a final resolved: "This is what we love to see."

The Fall Guy is set to hit US cinemas on May 3.
