Messi the dog p*sses on Matt Damon’s star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Messi the Dog was caught in a rather awkward moment as he was caught relieving himself on Matt Damon's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Anatomy of a Fall's Messi the Dog was filmed appearing to pee on Matt Damon's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It was a long ceremony for the dog, who was caught short after leaving the Dolby Theatre where the ceremony had taken place.

And it seems that Messi needed to go for a walk after the ceremony, though he picked an unfortunate spot to relieve himself.

There's got to be a joke about dogs peeing on trees and fence posts and 'wooden performances' in there somewhere.

People took to social media to share their amusement at the hilarious post-oscars moment.

One wrote: "The best Oscars of all time just for this."

A second posted: "Well, I guess this dog wasn’t a fan of those Bourne films. Poor Matt Damon."

Some people even called on Messi to take over as the host of the Oscars next year.

One wrote: "He should host the Oscars next year," while another commented: "Messi should host next year."

Messi, who stars in Anatomy of a Fall, attended the ceremony despite some suggestions that he would not be going after his attendance at the nominees' luncheon.

It seems that the pooch made quite the impression at the luncheon, with Ryan Gosling and Billie Eilish both smitten by his charm and charisma.

I mean, just look at that face.

But it seems that an angelic face may conceal something of a bad boy in Messi, with his urinating antics on the star of a fellow Hollywood actor no less.

It's certainly up there with the hell-raising antics of other stars of the big screen.

The moment occurred at the end of the evening's ceremony.

Oppenheimer proved to be the biggest winner of the evening, with the film receiving some seven awards at the ceremony, including Best Picture.

Director Christopher Nolan also took home the award for Best Director, while star Cillian Murphy won best actor, and Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor.

In his acceptance speech, Cillian Murphy said: "We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or worse we're living in Oppenheimer's world, so I'd really to dedicate this to the peacemakers everywhere."

Messi may not have personally taken home an award, but he did win people's hearts.
