Billy Bob Thornton has hit back at claims he is leaving Paramount+ hit Landman, as he finally addressed the reports directly.

The series star, 70, has been delighting audiences as Tommy Norris in the show, which is the brain child of Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

Rumours first began to swirl that Thornton would be leaving the show, after his character Tommy was fired as president of M-Tex by Cami (Demi Moore) at the end of season two.

Yet while the road ahead will be far from easy for Tommy, Thornton has confirmed that he has no intention of leaving the series anytime soon.

Speaking to USA Today he confirmed that any talk of him leaving the show is not accurate.

Branding the reports as ‘AI generated c**p’, Thornton told the show: "There's an AI report that Demi and I are a couple now, and there's one that I'm leaving the show. They have nothing to do with reality."

Thornton has been a staple of the show since it first debuted back in November 2024 and has frequently hit headlines for the nail-biting storylines – and for an infamous full frontal nudity scene.

So far, two seasons of the show have aired to critical acclaim, with an order for a third season renewed in December 2025.

Although no release date has yet been given for when the series will return to our screens, Thornton has confirmed he will definitely be back on set to continue bringing the storylines to life.

"It's been great working with Sam Elliot. And I love doing the show," he added of the actor, who plays his on-screen father. "I'll be here as long as it plays out. If it's five years, great. If it's six, I'm there."

The upcoming series is expected to continue the story of Tommy forming his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, alongside T.L. (Elliott), Cooper (Jacob Lofland) Nathan (Colm Feore), Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) and Dale (James Jordan). Thornton will return to the show alongside Ali Larter, who plays Tommy’s no nonsense ex-wife, Angela.

“So excited to announce we are coming back for season 3!” Larter shared on Instagram. “Thank you to the fans that have made Landman such a massive success.”
