Apple has finally released its first trailer for the Band of Brothers sequel.

Masters of the Air comes more than two decades after the award-winning original series, however, judging by the trailer, it looks like it will have been well worth the wait.

Fans couldn't agree more.

One said: "Feels like it's been 10 years since this was announced. Good things come to those who wait I guess."

Another added: "I’ll never get over how good effects have come in the last ten-twenty years especially for TV shows."

A third wrote: "This looks really insane, like production wise, cinematography and visuals, acting, etc."

The upcoming series focuses on an air regiment in the Second World War.

It stars Austin Butler (Elvis), Barry Keoghan (The Banshees on Inisherin) and Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts).

A synopsis states: "Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, Masters of the Air follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the 'Bloody Hundredth') as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air."

It has been produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, who made the likes of Band of Brothers and the first sequel The Pacific.

Hanks was the one who got Butler on the project after the two worked on Elvis together.

The acting veteran urged the Golden Globe-winner to take a role straight after filming Elvis so he wouldn't get 'emotional whiplash'.

Speaking to The Sunday Times earlier this year, Butler said Hanks told him: “You have immersed yourself so deeply in Elvis that, for your mental health, it would be wise to go straight into something else.

"If you just jump off the train, you might have emotional whiplash.

“And, you know, I’ve got this thing I’m producing."

We don't have long to wait until Masters of the Air drops onto AppleTV as the premiere date is January 26.
