A Wednesday cast member has spoken out after reports they will not be returning for season two of the hit Netflix show.

The show, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, was a smash hit for the streamer – receiving the biggest premiere of any show in 2022.

As season two begins production this week however, reports have come out revealing who is in and who is out from the show.

The Addams Family retelling focused on Wednesday has seen a lot of cast movement, with multiple actors added to the cast as series regulars – and several removed from the cast altogether.

Doctor Who and Scoop alumni Billie Piper was the most high profile addition to the cast of the Netflix show, as she will be joining the show as a series regular.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, who both appeared as guest stars in season one, have had their roles bumped up to series regulars.

The most high profile removal from the cast however, was Percy Hynes White.

Hynes White played Xavier Thorpe, a love interest of Wednesday’s in the show, and a major part of the first season.

While Naomi J Ogawa was also removed from the cast, and Jamie McShane will be bumped down from series regular to guest star, Hynes White is the most surprising change to the cast.

Ogawa and McShane’s characters were expected to be minor characters in season two at most, while Hynes White was expected to play a major part in the show moving forward.

The actor was embroiled in controversy after sexual assault allegations were made against him by an anonymous user on X.

Hynes White denied the allegations, calling them a ‘campaign of misinformation’.

He went on to say, in a statement still highlighted on his Instagram: “The rumors are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people’s safety.

“These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims.

“It’s very distressing to know that this misinformation has upset people.

“I’m really thankful for everyone who’s stood by me and helped share the facts.”

There has been no confirmation that this has anything to do with the decision to remove him from the cast.

The actor responded to the reports he would not be returning on Instagram, where he posted a picture of the cast, seemingly confirming the reports.

He said: “I had so much fun working on this show.

“I can’t wait to watch season 2 : )

“Much Love <3"

The post is minimal on details but seems to confirm that he will not be playing a part in season two.

Representatives for Percy Hynes White did not respond to an earlier request for comment by UNILAD.
