Netflix have been branded 'insane' by fans after the streaming platform announced a hugely popular crime series won't be returning for another season.
Earlier this year, fans raved over a drama written and executive produced by Kevin Williamson and starring the likes of Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist, Maria Bello, Danielle Campbell, and Holt McCallany.
The show follows the fictional Buckley family and has apparently shaped up to be such a gripping crime series that viewers are binging all eight episodes in one sitting.

The Waterfront sees the Buckley family grapple with their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire, and the lengths they're willing to go to to reinstate their legacy.
Deadline reported recently that Netflix has decided a second season of The Waterfront will not be happening, despite the first season having impressed fans and critics alike.
Heck, The Waterfront has been watched for a whopping 135 million hours, making the decision from Netflix even more bewildering.
"Netflix is insane for canceling the waterfront no one can tell me otherwise," one person penned. They added: "Bree's storyline genuinely made me feel so seen and understood and idk what tf their problem is."
A second added: "That was a fantastic show. Y’all are wack for that," while a third remarked: "The Waterfront is a fantastic show with an incredible cast. I hope another streaming platform is able to pick it up."

Creator Williamson took to Instagram to focus on the positives after his drama was canceled by Netflix.
"While I’m say the Buckleys won’t be back for Season 2, I’m celebrating the joy that was Season 1," he wrote. "And thank you to Netflix for taking a chance on a very personal story," he added, having previously revealed he had been inspired by his childhood and family when writing the show.
While many fans are devastated, The Waterfront did divide opinion somewhat.

The Guardian's Lucy Mangan wrote in her review: "It is escapist summer nonsense with - God, I hope - no pretensions to being otherwise. Dive into the adult creek and wallow in nostalgia as the waves of absurdity sweep towards shore."
On the other hand, Ben Travers, from IndieWire, penned: "Nothing that happens has to evoke any real emotions, it just has to remind you of shows that did. Even if you haven’t seen Ozark or Yellowstone - heck, even if The Waterfront is the first series you’ve ever seen - there’s no mistaking a sinking ship."
