Stranger Things actor Priah Ferguson has dismissed internet speculation that her co-star Winona Ryder 'made her cry'.
Three episodes of the much-loved sci-fi show dropped on Netflix as Christmas Day (December 25), ahead of the finale coming in a matter of hours. Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, dropped a massive clue and potential spoiler for the finale as the usually tight-lipped brothers discussed fan theories.
And while fans eagerly await the finale on New Year's Eve, the internet has been rife with speculation over a supposed feud between Ferguson and Ryder.
A misleading TikTok in recent days falsely claimed Ferguson had overheard the Beetlejuice star saying she wanted fewer scenes with Ferguson because of her 'revealing' Instagram posts and it got to the point where she 'made her cry'.

However, the TikTok was spliced together from different clips, leading to Ferguson, who plays Erica Sinclair in the Netflix series, taking to social media to quash the rumors.

Commenting under a video addressing the false feud, Ferguson said: "This is not true! Winona is one of the kindest people I’ve met! It’s really sad that people will edit an interview of me that has no correlation to what this caption says.
"Please leave Winona alone! I usually ignore stuff like this, but I’m not going to let anyone come for Ms. Winona."
The 19-year-old also took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture of her TikTok comment, adding that 'for whatever reason' she is unable to comment on the page and 'address this issue'.
She then reiterated her previous statement, saying that the Girl, Interrupted star 'has been one of the sweetest people' she's ever met and for people to 'please leave Ms. Winona alone'.
Ferguson has also dug out where the clip of her talking about crying had come from, which came from an interview she'd done with The Sit where she was instead recalling her first acting audition, rather than anything Ryder had supposedly done on the set of Stranger Things.

That wasn't the end of Ferguson's social media rant, as she added on her Story: "I don’t like when people create false narratives to have someone innocent get dragged or bashed."
She also responded to someone's Instagram comment asking her if this rumor was true, writing: "That's not true. She never said that. Winona has been one of the kindest people I've ever met since I've been working in this industry. They twisted this narrative from an interview I did with The Sit."
As of writing, Ryder has not yet responded to the false claims.
Stranger Things season five Volumes 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix now, with the hugely-anticipated finale dropping on the popular streaming platform on New Year's Eve at 5pm PT/ 8pm ET, which is the early hours of New Year's Day for those in Europe.
UNILAD has contacted Ryder's representatives for comment.
