Stephen King once recommended spy thriller Netflix series with almost-perfect ratings.
He may be behind dozens of top horror movies and series, but King is also known for regularly sharing his top viewing picks.
He has previously championed a series with a 'smart' fresh take on a classic horror villain, and a 'impossible not to binge' police drama.

Well, there's another Netflix series that may have slipped under your radar he has labeled 'a breath of fresh air'.
Not only has the two-season action drama pulled in stunning Rotten Tomatoes ratings, but it's been binge-watched for some 80 million hours too, according to FlixPatrol.
It follows disgraced Stasi assassin Kleo Straub (Jella Haase) who embarks on a globe‑spanning revenge mission after being framed and imprisoned in East Germany.

Set between 1987 and 1990 - before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall - the series explores flashbacks, betrayal and espionage as it weaves across Berlin, Mallorca, Spain and Chile.
The series in question is called Kleo, and it runs for 14 episodes across two seasons.
As reported by Dread Central, King took to X, formerly Twitter, to praise the series back in 2022.
"KLEO (Netflix): What a breath of fresh air!" he began.

"Suspenseful and also very funny. I wonder, though, where Kleo's money came from. Flying off to Mallorca mustn't have been cheap, even in 1989."

"Oh well–just enjoy," he concluded.
It's unclear why King went on to delete the post.

Both seasons of Kleo have racked up an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 96 percent.
Critics said of the first instalment: "Fueled by betrayal, Jella Haase's Kleo sets the Cold War world ablaze in this propulsive German spy revenge thriller."
One fan added: "Loved this show and the performances from the amazing cast, so many memorable moments in one show."
A second reckoned the series has succeeded 'where Hollywood fails,' adding: "Remarkable performances, phenomenal story, loveable characters."
"It's nuts but in a good way," a third simply put it. "Set against the backdrop of the Berlin wall falling, this spy thriller is violent in parts, but with a dark humour that sets is it apart from the like of Bourne etc."
The discussion continued over on Reddit, where one social media admitted they thought season two was 'even better' than season one.

"Where Season 1 was sometimes a little slow this season went right to the point," they added.
"This show, for the 2nd season in a row, made the combo of being both dramatic and extremely fun, work," a second agreed, while a third reckoned: "Season two is more fun."
Who doesn't love a show that gets better by the season? Count me in!
Both seasons of Kleo are streaming now on Netflix.
